Pedagogy & Approach
Our motto is: No Education, No Life. It is our hope that every young person in Baltimore City despite their zip code would have access to quality education and their rights. The Baltimore Algebra Project may not solve the issues of access to quality education and job opportunities. Yet, we certainly can work to decrease this inequity in our city.
Our work emerges from the 1960’s civil rights movement where students and youth led the country in rethinking and reshaping its understanding of the moral compass and access to equal opportunities of education, job quality, and basic civil and human rights. We believe that math is more than the great equalizer. It is one of the key tools that will allow working class youth of color to the ability to compete in a 21st century economy

The AOPSmall Group Specialists will have the task of facilitating the closing of these educational gaps in the area of mathematics. The student population that will be worked with are Baltimore City Public School System students grades K-8.
